More than 300 students from around the world choose to study at IBS every year. The University of Buckingham UK is the key validation partner of IBS Budapest. 

 

The validation confirms that the structure, depth and quality of the courses are equivalent to those taught at The University of Buckingham. The validation includes a quality assurance process established by University of Buckingham and a further assessment is made periodically by the United Kingdom's Quality Assurance Agency. In addition, for many years IBS has used an external examiner system whereby well qualified subject specialists review examination papers, course work and dissertations to ensure transparency and fairness in the assessment process.

Undergraduate Programmes:

 

IBS offers undergraduate programmes of 3-year full-time courses of modular studies leading to the Bachelor of Science degree conferred by The University of Buckingham. The language of tuition is English on all programmes. They start with a common first year that allows the student to take a decision with regard to the final programme choice as late as the end of the first year.

In the sixth semester students are able to choose between doing study-abroad or an internship, or they can combine the two through undertaking work placement in a third country. A complex personality and competence development curriculum is an integral part of each degree programme.

Postgraduate Programmes:

 

IBS offers the following four postgraduate programmes in English, all leading to the Master of Science degree conferred by their British partner, The University of Buckingham. All their master’s programmes are full-time and can be completed within 12 months. IBS provides a flexible schedule with courses delivered in teaching blocks. The schedule makes it possible for students even with a full-time job to participate.

Required Academic Qualifications:

 

 

Bachelor’s programme

 

IBS accepts students from all walks of life who have the ability to combine their academic strengths with an enthusiasm for new challenges. Applications are invited for the Bachelor’s degree programmes from international students who can demonstrate that they have an official certificate proving the successful completion of the secondary school.

 

Master’s programme:

 

Entrants to any of the programmes of the MSc Portfolio should possess a first or second class honours Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any field or discipline. Master's programmes are of 1 year.

 

English Language Requirements:

 

Bachelor's Programme:

 

Applicants are required to pass IBS’s own English Language Placement Test that consists of a 90 minute test and an oral part.

 

IELTS and TOEFL scores are also accepted and the applicant will then have to take only the oral part of the test. The following scores are required:

 

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum overall score of 6.0 points (including a minimum of 6 for both the reading and writing component) 

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 550 (213 in the computerised version, 80 in the iBT version).

 

Master's Programme:

 

Applicants are required to pass IBS’s own English Language Placement Test that consists of a 90 minute test and an Orientation Interview.

 

IELTS and TOEFL scores are also accepted and the applicant is only required to give the interview. The following scores are required:

 

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum overall score of 6.5 points (including a minimum of 6.5 in each component of assessment)

 

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 575 (232 in the computerised version, 90 in the iBT version).

 

 

Fees for BSc Programmmes:

 

EUR 3,300/ semester

EUR 6,600/year      

KD 2,200 approx/year. 

KD 6,600 approx/3 years

 

 

Fees for Master's Programmes:

 

EUR 4,350/semester EUR 8700/year  KD 2,870/year approx. 

 

Housing: IBS offers comfortable housing to students in on campus Residance Halls.

 

Costs of rooms for a  10-month contract

single occupancy 385 EUR/month 10 x 385=3850 EUR approx KD 1270.

10-month contract shared occupancy 260 EUR/month 10 x 260=2600  KD 860 approx.  

 

KD rates are approximate and subject to currency fluctuations.
