The Czech Republic: A Fairytale Land of Castles.

The Czech Republic is a beautiful country in the heart of Europe. It is bordered by Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Poland.

Land of Beauty: Though the Czech Republic is a small country it is full of beauty; both natural and man-made. The whole country is studded with architectural gems and has more castles per square mile than any other major country in the world. Many of these are beautifully maintained with all their glory intact, so stepping into them is like stepping back in time or straight into a fairy tale. The Czech Republic is also famous for its waters and its spa towns like Karlovy Vary and Marianske Lazne, culturally rich places, once known as Carlsbad and Mariensbad and through their history the haunt of not just European kings and nobles but also writers, composers and artists. Today, while the world famous spas here offer the latest treatments the towns continue to hold the charm of those bygone days.

A good country to study and live in: A developed country, it offers all the modern amenities and comforts that a person requires to maintain a good standard of living. The Czech Universities are among the best in the world and are highly ranked by all global ranking agencies. The best among these is undoubtedly Charles University in Prague. Not only does the Czech Republic offer excellent education, it has a number of libraries, gyms, winter stadiums, museums, theatres, historical cafes, etc to enhance not just the standard of living but the general well being of everyone who lives here. Its hills, mountains, and forests offer many recreational opportunities for trekking, cycling, hiking and even winter sports like skiiing. Above all, everything comes with a very reasonable price tag which offers European living and experiences at affordable prices. Students find the atmosphere very congenial and conducive to not just studies but to their complete developement. It is not surprising therefore that the Czech Republic is the chosen destination of study by thousands of International students from all around the world.

Prague: Its capital Prague; the city of a thousand spires is among the most visited cities in the world. It is almost completely covered with historical buildings interspresed with beautiful green areas for rest and recreation. Prague Castle, among the biggest castle complexes in the world, dominates the cityscape. The river Vlatava flows through Prague and a number of beautiful bridges join its two banks, among them is the historical Charles brdige, now a wholly pedestrian bridge.

Prague has an excellent transport network of metros, trams and buses that gives easy access to all the places. The most important parts of the city are close enough to walk through though, infact one can walk for hours without tiring here and it is probably the best way to see the city which has so many places of interest, many hidden away in the smallest lanes and alleys.

Prague is also very well connected, not just by air but also with an excellent netwrok of road and rail that gives easy access to many of the cities in neighbouring countries. As all the countries around it belong to the Schengen Area too, one can travel without any pre-planning and can just go for even day or week-end trips to any of the neighbouring countries. The entire Schengen area of 26 countries is accessible with just the Schengen visa for travellers from non EU and non Schengen countries. This gives students a very rich experience as just  across the borders are countries with different architecture, history, lanscape, langauge, cuisine and a whole lot of interesting experiences.
